When are you available?

Schedule

My usual schedule is as follows, with occasional variation:



Mondays: 1 - 7.30pm
Tuesdays: 9.30am - 4pm 

Thursdays: 1.30 - 7.30pm
Fridays: 10am - 6pm

Saturdays: 10am - 6pm
2-3 times a month. 


 How Long Until Your Next Available Appointment?

This obviously varies, but as of 2016 I have been fully booked between 3 and 7 weeks in advance. So book well in advance to avoid disappointment, particularly for those who need evening or weekend appointments.

How Far Ahead Can I Book You?

At the beginning of each month you can schedule up to a maximum of 3 months ahead with me. But then as we go through the month, it will just be to the end of that month + two months.

eg, From 1st April, I will open up my diary for bookings for the month of June.
From 1st May, I will open up my diary for bookings for the month of July.


Short Notice Appointments Because of Cancellations 

Due to cancellations, appointments are occasionally available at short notice. I keep a waiting list of people who have asked to be informed if something comes up. Do let me know if you would like to be added to it, and by all means any brief notes to add on which days and times you would, or would not, be interested in. Even though there are often several people on the list, as they all have different availability it is still worthwhile to be added if you are interested in short notice appointments.


What types of payments do you accept?



I cannot take credit or debit card payments.

  For New Clients
Cash only.

  For Regular Clients
Cash is preferred.
Cheques may be accepted.
Money transfer may be accepted. Eg direct bank transfer, or paym.

  For Gift Vouchers

You may pay by cash, cheque, Bank Transfer, Paym, or Paypal.


Can I buy a Gift Voucher? 

Yes. What you get:

- the voucher, with 'from' and 'to', issue date and expiry date completed. Vouchers are valid for 12 weeks from the issue date. If given the date of a special occasion the voucher is for, I make that the issue date so they have the voucher for the full 12 weeks it is valid. Otherwise I will use the date I receive payment as the issue date.

- a leaflet with Advice and Care Information for Before, During and After Massage, and where appropriate, a leaflet with Advice and Care Information for Before, During and After Reflexology.

- a leaflet with information about the range of services and options available and their different benefits.

- A compliments slip with my schedule and advice about when to contact me to ensue booking before the expiry date. This may also be personalised with a message from you if you wish.

- A 'reminder' service - as I am very booked up, in order to ensure I am able to book the recipient of the voucher in within the 12 weeks period, if I haven't been contacted to book in within 2 weeks, I contact the recipient myself.

I can usually get a voucher sorted and posted in 2 or 3 days, so it is with someone within a week.

Please email me to ask for a gift voucher, and we can arrange payment by cash, cheque, or PayPal, and I will let you know what information I need. Or if you prefer you can phone me on 07888 692803


What is your cancellation policy? 

For non-attendance without 24 hours notice, I charge 50% of the fee for the appointment booked.



Is there anything I should mention when contacting you for an appointment? Are you ever unable to take a client?



If you have a medical condition, take prescribed medication, are pregnant, have had an accident or injury within the last couple of years, or have anything else which you are concerned may mean you will not be able to receive treatment, or that may affect your treatment
PLEASE MENTION WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT AN APPOINTMENT.

By finding out before your appointment, I can make sure it is appropriate for me to see you. I will have time before your appointment research any conditions you have that I am not familiar with. I may need you to sign to say your doctor or care provider knows of your intention to seek treatment and has no objections. Or I may ask for written permission from them. In which case you will have time to contact them.

What does the consultation involve...

  ...on a first visit? 

Before I deliver the treatment you have booked for, I will:
  • get your details
  • check through a list of medical conditions with you
  • ask you what your reasons are for coming for treatment, eg any problem areas you might like focused on, or any particular benefits you would like
  • ensure that the treatment you have booked is appropriate
  • make sure you know what to expect from the session so you can feel comfortable and relaxed.
  • advise you how you may feel afterwards and give some 'aftercare' tips to help you get the most benefit from the treatment.
An initial consultation usually takes about 10 minutes for Reflexology, and about 15 minutes for Swedish or Indian head massage. For these treatments the first consultation tends to focus on the physical - a thorough check of medical history and of your current physical condition which may affect your chosen treatment. For Aromatherapy it may take up to 20-25 minutes to get a good picture of you and how you would like to be and feel on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well as the physical level. However it varies how long the consultation takes according to your medical history, whether you have many current issues with your health and wellbeing and how talkative you are!

  ...on a second visit and subsequent sessions? 

On all subsequent sessions I will check if there is any change to your medical condition, how you felt in the day or so after your last session, how you have been since, how you are feeling today, and what you want / need from the session. This may be a quick check in before getting on with the treatment, especially if you are having the same treatment again, or may take longer.

On a second visit, or sometimes at the point at which you have told me that you intend to be a regular client, I may ask your permission to take a little time to learn more about you and your lifestyle - for example about your family, what work or other activities you do, what you eat and drink, exercise, sleep patterns, stress levels. This not only helps me suggest the most appropriate treatment programme for you, but when appropriate, I may give relevant advice or suggestions about self care. I can also support you in any changes you decide to make to improve your health and wellbeing, by being someone to check in with regularly about your progress.


Private Health Insurance - are your sessions covered? 

Because I am an FHT member, you may be able to be reimbursed for Reflexology from Bupa, Health Shield, LAYA Healthcare, Paycare, UK Healthcare and Westfield Health. You may be able to be reimbursed for Indian head massage from Health Sheild or Westfield Health. Insurance policies may vary, please confirm eligibility with your insurance provider before treatment, I am happy to provide information e.g. about my qualifications if required.


What does it mean that you are a member of the FHT?

FHT = The Federation of Holistic Therapists - the largest and leading professional association for complementary, holistic beauty and sports therapists in the UK and Ireland.

Choosing an FHT member means you can relax in the knowledge that you are in the hands of a therapist that:
  • has education, training and qualifications that meet national minimum standards
  • is insured to practise those therapies they are qualified in
  • abides by the FHT Code of Conduct and Professional Practice
  • is undertaking regular Continuing Professional Development
  • is subject to a robust disciplinary procedure if a formal complaint is made
  • is held to the highest standards of governance, skill, honesty competency and public safety

What is the Accredited Register Mark?

The FHT Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), an independent body accountable to Parliament. ​The Accredited Registers quality mark gives extra peace of mind for anyone looking for a complementary healthcare therapist, letting them know that anyone who holds the mark is committed to high standards. What is your Complaints Procedure?

As part of my membership of the FHT (see above) I am obliged to abide by a Code of Conduct (available to view on request). Should you have any reason to raise a complaint in the first instance take this up with me, as your practitioner, and I will endeavour to resolve this to our mutual satisfaction.
If you are still not satisfied you can raise a complaint with the FHT by going to FHT Complaints Procedure and following the procedure outlined there.
