Finding Your Way Here

White Cross Business Park is situated very close to Lancaster town centre and easy to get to by car, bike or on foot.

From South Road

The main entrance is on South Road, just opposite Lancaster Hospital.

The South Road entrance is always open.

If you come in this way you will see the reception on your left in Gateway House.

shows the door to Alston House, approaching from the direction of South Road

Past Gateway House, Alston House is the next building ahead of you on the left before the road swings round to the right - you can see the door on the left of this photo.

Very straightforward if walking - come through the left hand door in the photograph, down the stairs and along the corridor.

Sometimes people get confused by the high room number - 604 - and get lost looking around upstairs - but Holistyx is on the lowest floor - Floor 0!

If driving, there's a video, below, showing you how to drive in from South Road, park, get a parking permit from reception, and walk to my room.

However, as you watch and listen to the video, please note the following changes since Covid:
  • It is now standard for me to arrange a parking permit for visitors who need one. If you have given me your car registration number when you booked - you will not need to go to reception.
  • The gates at the end of the alleyway onto to the canal between Gateway House and Alston House are now locked.
  • There is no longer a waiting room, please arrive on time, and if a little early please wait in the corridor.

From Quarry Road

The back entrance is on Quarry Road, past the White Cross pub, and past the entrance to the carpark of the Neighbourhood Centre (formerly known to most as the Adult College, called White Cross Education Centre on the map above).

For those on foot (or on a bike) there is a path through from Quarry Road which is always open, shown in the video below:

If walking, or cycling from this side of White Cross, this is the route to use when the canal gates are shut from 6pm, or to avoid the steep paths down onto the canal from Penny Street Bridge or by the White Cross pub. Also useful if you end up parking at another carpark and walking in this way.

If you choose to drive in from this direction, there is not a specific video for that. I hope between the site map above and the various videos you will manage to orient yourself. Bear in mind that from Quarry Road there are 3 paths in for cars - one to the pub on the right, one to the Neighbourhood Centre in the middle, and the one you need - briefly glimpses in this video - slightly set back from the road and on the left which leads into the Business Park.

The Quarry Road gates are closed to cars from 7pm, and on Saturdays.

From the Canalside

There are 2 gates from the canalside. Since the pandemic, the canalside gate nearest Penny Bridge, at the botttom of the alleyway between Alston House and Gateway House (past my back door) is always locked.

The other canalside gate, closer to the White Cross Pub, is available till 6pm. From there, you can either:
  1. Go through Cameron House, to your right. Avoid the door which has stairs up to the first floor, take the next door which stays on the ground floor, go down the corridor to the right, past the toilets, into Alston House and Holistyx is the first door on your right. OR
  2. Go around Cameron House, and directly into Alston House.

This video shows the route walking from Quarry Road past the White Cross Pub on the canal path. However you will need to take the first gates, leading to Cameron House, at around the 45 sec mark in the video, as the 2nd set of gates shown here are now kept locked. Make sure you use the door to the ground floor, turn right, and follow the signs round and through to Alston House.

By Bike

You can come in from South Road, Quarry Road or off the canal. There are bike racks and bike lockers in a covered carpark opposite Gateway House.

By Car: Parking

Parking is free, but to get a parking permit, you must ensure your car registration number is logged onto the White Cross computer system.

This can be done on an ipad in reception, within 20 minutes of parking. Its important to do this - otherwise, a computer system linked to cameras which monitor the carpark automatically generates a fine of £100!

Alternatively, if you let me have your registration number on your booking forms, I will arrange a permit for you.

Parking for Disabled People

Some of the disabled parking spaces along the side of Alston House are for NHS visitors only. However there is a disabled parking space which my clients can use as long as its not already taken, right next to a double side door.

This video shows how to get from Penny Street Bridge / South Road entrance to White Cross to the disabled parking space nearest my room, and from there to my room.

Toilets

There are male, female and accessible toilets for disabled people just round the corner from my room, into the connected building, Cameron House.

No Waiting Room

Please note - the videos on this page were made before Covid-19, when there was a waiting area and you were invited to let yourself in.

Now you are asked to arrive on time. I will open the door to Holistyx at your appointment time, and let you into the consultation area.
