🎁 Gift Vouchers

With Christmas coming up, a few people have been asking me if I do gift vouchers. Yes I do.

However please be aware that appointments will not be available immediately. A 5-8 week wait is usual. However, vouchers are valid for 4 months. Also, if you give me the recipients phone number or email address, if they haven't contacted me after a month I will contact them to remind them to book in.

In order for the person you are sending it to, to receive your gift voucher in the post by Christmas Day, please pay and give me details required (see below) by 3pm on Wednesday 19th December. ✉

They receive a voucher, full info on my services and treatment options, my schedule, and advice and information about what to be aware of before, during and after a massage or Reflexology.



Sessions include consultation and treatment time.

🎉 10 Year Anniversary Party!

The 1st November 2018 was the 10 Year Anniversary of Holistyx. So I had a party to celebrate!

(The photo above is from mid way through, one person sadly had already left and a couple more hadn't arrived yet, but - apart from my family - we got nearly everyone who attended in.)

I started Holistyx in 2008. To start with I was also doing other work, and only had a couple of clients a week from a room rented from Isobel Hamid at Healing Hands in Skerton. From 2010 to 2012 I was also using a room at the back of Concept Hair and Beauty on China Street with Trish Smiley.

Then June 2011 I was introduced to Rvd Phil Hudd through a mutual friend, and set up the first room entirely my own in his home, where I have been ever since, and where my business has grown into an increasingly busy full time business.

It was such a lovely occasion.  It was a chance for me to get together with and say thank you to some of the people who have been part of the journey to making Holistyx the successful business it is now.

After all I wouldn't be making a living doing something I love without the people who have supported me as clients.

My apologies to all the clients, friends and supportive colleagues who I didn't invite due to limited space! I invited those who have been coming to me for the longest and a few who are very frequent clients - but you are all appreciated. ❤️

I put on some drinks and nibbles, and some of my clients brought more nibbles, drinks, and even vegan chocolate cake and vegan orange and cinnamon cake.

Sadly my 'landlord' Phil wasn't around to join us - nor his 2 lovely collie dogs, who many of my clients are very fond of! But I did have my family there to support me, and it was lovely to see them meeting my clients and my clients meeting them - my partner, son, step-daughter, and my 8 year old step-granddaughter entertaining people with gymnastics! 

I was given lots of cards (which you can see here) - and even one (in the middle of the top row) which is hand made especially!

A few people surprised me with presents! I haven't photographed all of these (though they were all very much appreciated) but did want to share with people the lovely flowers: 

I had a wonderful time, and lots of those who came (and a couple who couldn't make it) have been asking me when I will have another one! I have promised to do another one if/when I get to 15 years. :) 

🗓️ Appointment Availability - Ongoing Clients - New Clients

December is now fully booked and the first week of January is also not available (though 1 or 2 days may be added nearer the time)  I would encourage ongoing clients who would like an appointment in early January to get yourself booked in now.

Some of my regular clients have missed getting an appointment in December, so I am doing a short closure to new clients to prioritise getting my ongoing clients booked in.

Wanting to book as someone who has been to me before?
- I usually allow bookings up to 2 calendar months ahead. I am for a short time letting clients who have previously been to me stretch that by an extra week. Ie today, 12th Nov, you can book up to 19th Jan.

Wanting to book as a new client?
- Please get in touch again on or after Thursday 22nd Nov, I am expecting to be ok to start adding new people in to my January diary from then.

Prices are now:

45 mins - £32

Hour - £40

Hour 1/4 - £48

Hour 1/2 - £56

This is for a session including consultation and treatment, and is the same price whatever type of treatment you choose. 

I am now once again open to booking in new clients

I stopped accepting new clients for a couple of months. I was reducing how far ahead I take bookings (it was up to 3 months, its now up to 2) and decided to not take any new clients while I saw how that worked out and to make sure I had enough appointments available to meet the needs of the clients I was already working with.

Its gone well, instead of being fully booked for 9 weeks I am now only fully booked for 5 weeks and with occasional spaces come up earlier as people have to cancel or reschedule. 

So, if you are interested in making an appointment with me, there is likely to be a wait for an appointment but if thats ok for you, do get in touch. 

Changes: Appointments Maximum 2 Months Ahead; No New Clients For Now.

For a long time I have been available for appointments 2-3 months ahead. All of eg July would become available on the 1st May, at which point a full 3 months was available to book, then this would reduce as I wouldn't take bookings for August until 1st June. I mostly was fully booked for 5-7 weeks. However I have been getting fully booked increasingly far ahead - and now I am fully booked for 9 weeks. I only have 2 appointments available, the last week of June. This lack of space and flexibility in my diary for 2 months ahead has been causing issues for myself and my clients.

The New System

New system - from Wednesday 2nd May (I am off work on Tuesday 1st May) I am only going to book up to 2 calendar months ahead, on a rolling basis. July will become available one day at a time, so I am always only bookable 2 calendar months ahead. Ie, on 2nd May, 2nd July will be available. On the 3rd May, the 3rd July will be bookable, and so on.

While this settles in I am closing my diary to new clients, to prioritise my longstanding and regular clients - see below for details and and an explanation for why I am making these changes.
