Covid-19 Policy & Procedures for Clients

Safe To Relax: Protecting each other through high standards of Covid-19 Infection Control

Policy: Summary of What Is Asked of Clients

  • 📝  Bookings are done via an Acuity Online Scheduler - email me to request the link. This includes intake forms including questions to reduce the risk of a person with Covid-19 coming for a treatment; to check for possible post-Covid conditions; and to assess your Covid risk level if appropriate. Please fill these in honestly, and in the 24 hours before your appointment, check that they are still accurate.
  • 🦠 ⚠️  If you have recently had 'cold' symptoms or any other symptoms which could be Covid please do not attend an appointment until it has been 10 days since infection. If you don't know exactly when you were infected - please count 10 days since the start of symptoms, or from your first positive test. OR if you had a negative Covid test (eg LFT) on day 5 or 6 since symptoms started, then its fine to attend an appointment on day 7.
  • 🦠 ⁉️  If you have been in close contact with someone with Covid-19 please do not attend an appointment for 10 days after the last time you had that contact. OR leave at least 7 full days after the close contact, having had negative LFTs (or PCR) on both day 5 and day 6. If I have any contact with someone with Covid, or symptoms which could be Covid, I will do the same.
  • 📞 📧  If in any doubt about whether the 2 points above apply to you, please ask! E.g., If you are not sure what should count as close contact, because they tested positive some days after you had been in contact with them, and may or may not have been infectious when you saw them - please contact me to discuss it. I will do the same if I have had a possible contact, with the following 10 days of clients to discuss whether or not to reschedule.
  • ⏰  If you are ill with something other than Covid, please wait until you are recovered, including no temperature🤒, diarrhoea 💩, vomiting 🤮, and no infection related sneezing 🤧 or coughing 😵, for at least 48 hours.
  • If you have been hospitalised with Covid-19, please check with your GP 👨‍⚕️ or Medical Specialist 🩺 that they do not have any concerns about you coming for treatment.
  • 😷  Wear a face covering or mask from before you enter till after you leave. If you are unable to do this, please contact me to discuss it. If you do not have one or forget to bring one, I can provide a surgical mask for you.
  • 🙌 👍  Do your best to arrive on time; place your possessions where asked to; wash your hands thoroughly when asked to do so; and avoid touching anything unnecessarily, including the curtains, carpet and door.
  •   During the treatment, if I am working around your head, neck and shoulders with you face up, please avoid talking unless it is necessary for feedback. This is also helpful for relaxing the muscles.

Procedures: Walk-Through For the Day Of Your Appointment

For any new clients who might find it useful - this goes step by step from the morning of the day of your treatment, parking arrangements, use of the building and toilets, procedures on arrival, during treatment, and for departure related to Covid safety - but its all pretty straightforward, and shouldn't be necessary to read this.

On the Morning

- Before you leave your home, consider if you are experiencing any cold, flu or Covid-19 symptoms, or if any of the questions in the Covid Screening form might now be a 'yes'. If so, please cancel or reshedule your appointment, or contact me to discuss. More info at: Illness, Covid Risk, Pregnancy, Vaccination, New Meds... When Should I Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment?

- Bring a face covering or mask. If you forget, I will provide a surgical mask.

- Ideally, wear clothes that will be easy to remove without disturbing your face covering. Eg unbuttonable or loose necklines.

- There is no waiting room, so please plan so you can arrive on time.

- Water will not be provided (as you would need to remove your face covering to drink it). Have a drink before you come and consider bringing a bottle of water so you can have a drink after leaving.

For Drivers - White Cross Car Parking Permits

- If you give me your registration number on your booking forms, I will arrange for a parking permit for your visit. If you come in a car without having done this, you must arrange for a parking permit by going to the Gatehouse Reception and logging in on an ipad to avoid being issued with a fine.

White Cross Buildings & Arrival at Holistyx

- Toilets are round the nearest corner and through the double doors into Cameron House. Please follow the hand washing guidance which is displayed in the toilet areas.

- No need to knock (unless you are late in which case please do so I know you have arrived) - I will open the door at your appointment time.

During Your Treatment

- Do give necessary feedback, e.g., on pressure, comfort, and let me know if you need have different support or change position in order to breathe more easily in your face covering (e.g., I can use side lying position or seat you on a chair for neck and shoulder work) but please avoid talking when I am near your head, especially when you are face up.

On Departure
